that's what I think weakness of socerror. without night vision(because most play draconian or frostling.) quite dangerous to go underground.
Btw my throne was almost empty. I had main stack near but with scorch earth and hasty plunder you could. the problem would be after that.

For my opinion. socerror is terrible at PBEM.
Lack of production, lack of MC. Serious dependent on mana.
It can give pain vs groud walking units like dreadnought but very weak vs underground.

At first I wanted to upload some screenshots but then I decided not to do that simply because it's not very interesting to look at an invisible army when it can't really affect the situation in game. I was trapped by an illusion that the medium size map would give me more time to prepare for the Novograd's attack or to even be able to attack myself first. I had a pretty bad start with no mana node and my vassal being on another island. I decided to invest a lot in my economics building 2 cities and vassalizing 2 dwellings and 2 towns. Around turn 10 I hurried several apprentices and left in the direction of my opponent. Even though the whole army was floating (leader, 3 apprentices, 2 phantasmal warriors, 1 wyvern) the 28 movement points affected me so badly that Novograd came to me faster. I saw him coming with my scouts but couldn't find out info about his whole army because he had a phantasmal warrior and an apprentice on his own (charmed) which were moving in front of the army and destroyed my wisps. I figured out that was the main stack coming so I calculated the mps and made up my mind to take a sphynx temple in front of his army. That wasn't a good idea because he simply had another army coming from another direction, it was digging the route with a goblin beetle and it ran into my stack. Should I tell you what this army consisted of? =) An excellent trained druid hero, an evangelist and plenty of tier-3 units...2 goblin beetles, a warbreed, a tier 3 befriended snake (pretty close to tier 4), a tier 3 light elemental from a wizards tower and so of. My slow units weren't even able to run away and though I blocked the entrance to the surface with my best stack it was easily eliminated by these superb militia units. Even if I had escaped and defended the throne city I would have lost all the other towns. Really, I didn't know how I could defeat that army with the main stack of Novograd coming later. His military score was 3 times high than mine though I tried to build as many units as I could and I even hired some from the tavern. I guess he had a very big snowball that time. I didn't have any advantage in the knowledge too because by the time I researched my tier 3 sorcerer serpent he had already summoned a tier 3 elem. I surrended because my main army wasn't able to counterattack fast.
we meet between sub stacks and I had some more.
because of builders he couldn't run back and caught.
After that he surrendered.
