Good game!
thanks for this tense game!
I have the same assessment of the game as Zytozoid, but that doesn't mean I think I deserve to win. These are timed games, and when games aren't finished, they're decided by points. That's just how it is. In fact, I just lost a game in the 2v2 tournament with very similar characteristics--my team was down on points, but we had all the momentum and an advantage where it looked clear that we'd win if we proceeded further. I have no problem taking that loss, & I have no problem taking this one.
To be fair, one big reason I'm down on points is because you enacted an excellent scouting campaign where you were destroying my forts & builders early--it was my fault for not protecting them better but to your credit that you did so. That really slowed me down. I was eventually able to recover & felt like I'd win, but I did run out of time. As you say, the game was certainly very close regardless.
And so in closing, I have a tremendous respect for you thinking forfeiting is the right thing here, Zytozoid. You show a tremendous amount of honor. But if you change your mind and want to take the win, I have no problem with it at all.
So winner of this match is personian.
So please send ALL the scores, not just the total score, by PM to judges. If you don't have them, please let us know quickly so. that we decide how to proceed
Please do not make public comments about the scores, except if you want to forfeit the match. The decision regarding the victory is up to the judges.
I guess there's no way we could get a week's extension? Regardless, no worries, it's just a game, and although I think the result here is highly up in the air (I honestly feel I'll win it now, but I also honestly feel Zytozoid is currently ahead on points....but that's all just my opinion knowing little about Zyt's true strength or how the points system really works), I did have fun playing it. And I don't mind coming up on the losing end of an unfinished game...it's all good, & if Zytoid wins it on points, I think he deserved it and have no problem with it.  It's just a game after all. :-) And again, I very much enjoyed the competitiveness of this one.
So the game will end tomorrow?
This round ends in a bit more than 2 days at 2019-10-29 5:4 PMÂ +02:00. It seems likely that your game will be decided by a score victory.
Who is the last player in the strategic turn?
That player has to follow these instructions:
1/ AFTER the deadline, the strategic turn is played until the last player in the turn order
2/ that player plays his turn, saves & quits, copy the save game to a backup folder
3/ that player re-enters the game and surrenders, then takes screenshots of all the scores (general, domain, research, military, happiness) . He does NOT end the turn. Instead he quits the game without ending the turn.
4/ he sends the screenshots to judges (marcuspers, Jonny Thunder and me)
5/ judges check the scores and take a decision
Please let me know if this is unclear.
I was out of town for about a week which slowed things down. Not sure what turn we're on. Plus it took forever to work out that restart before--really bums me out, I hate these unfinished games.
Pretty busy atm. Got an important interview on Monday. Might do my next turn only next monday or tuesday- wish me luck (:
Then let's get back to it.
personian, could you please make a video in full screen (and AoW3 in windowed mode) showing you re-entering the turn from the PBEM lobby (so we see when you click on the Ironman notification) up to the point where the turn is fully uploaded? Then send it (through YouTube for instance) to judges. Thanks!
Please note that there is a +3 week extension of the round (I need to announce it on the Player Pool).
And yes, please do close Chrome, etc. to avoid crashes. I have a kind of similar issue (though usually it leads to temporary freezes, not crashes) on my old laptop so I usually close most stuff when playing AoW3.
Happy to send you anything, I'm just not sure what it's supposed to be at this point.
We're on Turn 37.
Can you send instructions again on the requirements when a restart is needed? In the meantime I'll hunt around at the rules of the tournament to see if I can find them there.
