Partie #1122 | MARKY vs Sin

After 72 turns this long and bloody war came to an end when Marky surrendered.

We had a major battle at turn 48 at a giant dwelling, freshly claimed by Marky. I think I managed to kind of sneak up on his main army with mine.

I knew he had a tough second army and hero protecting his throne so I didn't dare to go for it with what I had remaining, and my second army with my third hero was way too f ar. So we both cleared sites some more and tried to grow. Marky finished a few Empire quests while I did none so I was certain he was ahead of me economy, military and research wise. Eventually I decided to try a split attack: My sorcerer and flying units went from south to capture his underground vassals while my main forces went toward his throne city. With my main force I got stuck in a narrow 1-hex tunnel with Marky's hero where apparently none of us dared to attack the other because not all our armies would have joined. To my relief his leader was heading toward a vassal of mine on the other side of the map so I took my time to stand in the tunnel while my sorcerer slowly headed north, raizing and plundering cities on the way, until it reached the same vassal city my leader was stuck at. To this city Marky's heroes retreated and stood their final ground. 

According to the score screen we were most of the times head to head to my surprise.

On a side no te: Yes, I took my time to write a report because I am that happy about my first win.
