So here´s the final report from this grand game. Turns went on for VERY long at the turns at late game could take close to an hour to manage. The tug of war wavered - I felt like I was the one being at defence, but AlX actually told me that the situation was inverse. Just nervewrecking with that much fog of war, that you can never know where your enemy is. I didn´t have the best start, but started nice and snug/shielded on an island in the NW of the map. Besides my close elven neighbor, I got a goblin city located in my vicinity, which I captured and absorbed within the first 15 turns. This one turned out to be a huge boon in gold production, doing mostly that for 30-40 turns (earning 325 gpt) late game after production of grand palace. I also launched onto the mainlands and captured the naga dwelling and cleared sites at these locations. At this point I had a clash with AlX over some well improved cities of Valery of Avernos´ with AlX ending winning that peninsula, which could have been an early bridgehead to his lands. The assault on cannons didn´t seem doable at that stage of the game, so I had to keep on the defensive and stay out of reach while still avoiding an invasion. Midgame things got better, and after a roaming tour with my leader and a quite powerful archdruid hero and her evangelist I was able to capture and improve a dragon dwelling in the UG, while at the same time launching a 2 front assault on the lands of Melenis die Aufständige (?) with my leader on one side and another theocrat hero coming from the other side. Then the game turned grim, global events triggered and I converted the frostling AD from the rise of the penguins. Gosh, she is slow, but still okay. Lastly armageddon helped my economy as it allowed simple armies to conquer the Lich Castle sites scattered all around the map. Thanks for a good game.
Sounds like a fun game, I have a couple running a bit longer like this. I think it's great that you really got a chance to play your class. I get bored of just convert random army and smash. I crave a game like this where there is a back and forth, combined with a strategy around one's class. Nice to read, thanks for posting.
Now one game more played:-) Just remembering, my stacks was beaten than i tried to get the halflin vasall than neighbour, i think it was aixstormrage, but not more sure.

Found the map - surface point of view, my capitol was Wastenoth.
I am sorry for my curiosity. You wrote that you'll be on a working trip till Sunday (24/2/20??). In what year February 24th is a Sunday?  This year it will be Wednesday
Hi AIX. I´m on a trip with my work from thursday (21/1) evening to sunday (24/1), late night. Therefore, there will be a period in between those days, where I can´t take my turn.
And I didn´t get to take a picture with my mobile phone. I pressed print screen and thought the memory would save that screen, but nah... Next time, I´ll make you a picture.
I´m going on a holiday tomorrow evening (like 16:00 CET), but might be luring my PC with me. I don´t know yet if I have internet connection, but I sure hope so. If not I´ll miss a turn or two. Maybe we could change the turn timer for a while. The holiday is with my girlfriends family, so it´s not good pratice to leave for a game of AOW3. The holiday is going on for a week btw.
Large Continents Map with UG turned on. Many Visit and Treasure Sites, Far start. 35% water and diggable walls, 20% non-diggable walls. Strong defenders. Maximum of 4 heroes. Many starting skills. Heroes match race. Seals and beacons are off.Â
All else is standard. Game is not divided into teams but the assumption is that players will not use the alliance function as this is totally lame - I follow the NQ group's rules in live MP (which I wrote a long time ago), and I expect players to follow this in this game as well, but of course all sorts of deals are allowed including exchanges and trades.
Game is Ironman mode. It is no-quitting, please join only if you intend to play it until the end no matter what happens. It is central European time oriented - I will accept players of all time zones but please try to coordinate your join order so we have an optimal turn order.
I intend to play with a 1 day turn timer for most of the time, occasionally changing to a 2 day timer when the need arises - and I will of course accommodate the schedules of the players as these are forthcoming and communicative, the point is to have fun together!
You can communicate with me here or in steam, you can find me there in the following address:
Do not know if someone wanted join, i can ask blackcat, he is loving pbem games, but he is playing 5 games. others are gog Players and others do not like play pbem games
Sorry about my mass rejoining. Found a litte bug in computing time-order denmark 16:00 shall be before germany 20:00 o'clock. Now fixed. Have written will use game to test turn order (if it work).
