That is it for this rematch (as we never had our game in the tournament) - a solid game, with a decisive terrain/map setup for me, with two shrines on the straigth way to my enemy. As a dwarven dreadnought the natural start is of course underground, and it took me quite some turns to get the second city/neighbor in the UG as a vassal. Actually I went off the UG quite fast and found me some good places to erect fortresses (one made the spot for my second city) - and more importantly, found a giant dwelling that I could take using all of my forces, a not that hard battle due to presence of a regrowth shrine in the arctic terrain. The giants were vassalized and had some time to plunder around before entering Drolop´s territory for the first big battle, in which we both lost many units and our leaders. I very much repeated myself for the following invasions, building army up quickly, getting haste berries, and the two shrines (there also was a shrine of the frozen beauty) on the straigth way to Drolop´s territory. I guess these led me able to perform some quite mean ambushes, the last one leading to the victory, which was not compellingly large as the scores tell. Thank you for a good game Olop. Dreadnought is one the harder matchups for a necromancer (perhaps even more so with our race choices...) - not one of the classes I use often, but good fun.
Instead of crossing the artic tundra to the Giant dwelling, I decided to chase an enemy army in the north. Â In the end, this decision seemed to always leave me a step behind. Â :{
