Nice game. As I remember, nor my leader, nor any of my heroes was in any major battles against Koncita Wurst (awesome name for the dwarven bearded dreadnought woman of my opponent). The game was played on the Eurovision day, which neither of us - I think - cared a lot about. I still don´t know who won that singing contest, but on this game at drew the longest straw. I started of a bit untraditionally by not capturing the mandatory closely lying dwarven friends, but instead agreed on peace, while focusing on getting two expansion cities up and running quickly. When I realized that Koncita was also in the UG, I feared of a rush, so split my main armies, which were creeping around and ended up with two quite nice armies. I vassalized the dragon dwelling with a hard quest, that unfortunately ended with the life of my first hero, a goblin dreadnought, which had fought bravely. After that, I found an inn with my new accesory hero, a dwarven sorceror, which was called in for service of completing the dragon quest, and bought a firstborn, letting me dig in quite close to Koncita´s territory. There, I sacrificed a hunter to get insect plague up on the capitol. This made Koncita´s armies rush my home territory, and I had to scramble many troops back there in order to capture back my capitol before it was razed. This was the major battle of the game. Unfortunately I didn´t take any screenshots. Both of us fought bravely, can´t remember the exact army compositions, but Melciar had two heroes, a dreadnought and a sorceror with inflict stun. In the end 6 of my troops survived - the battle was like 16 vs. 9 troops, and I got very lucky my webbing the dreadnought hero with a phasing baby hunter spider, which was enough distraction to finally let me into the gates. The rest was a war of scouting and movement, and Melciar ultimately conceded due to the lack of mobility, after another capturing, not of my capitol, but of my second city. Thanks for a good game...

I started of a bit untraditionally by not capturing the mandatory closely lying dwarven friends, but instead agreed on peace, while focusing on getting two expansion cities up and running quickly. That one was vassalized some turns later. When I realized that Koncita was also in the UG, I feared of a rush, so split my main armies, consisting of racial units, some animals and my heroes, a leader and a goblin dreadnought, which were creeping around, gathering gold and capturing whatever was up for capture.
I sent the majority with the goblin dreadnought back to the middle axis, and ended up with two quite nice armies there as I got a new hero, and had produced some priests, riders, and hunters. With these, I vassalized the dragon dwelling with a hard quest, that unfortunately ended with the life of the goblin dreadnought (my first hero, after the one that was killed for not liking the UG) which had fought bravely.
After that, I found an inn with my new accesory hero, a dwarven sorceror, which was also called in for service of completing the aforementioned dragon quest, and bought a firstborn, letting me dig in quite close to Koncita´s territory. There, I sacrificed a hunter to get insect plague up on the capitol. Annoying this must have been.

This was the major battle of the game. Unfortunately I didn´t take any screenshots. Both of us fought bravely, can´t remember the exact army compositions, but Melciar had two heroes, a dreadnought and a sorceror with inflict stun plus a lot of forge priest, flaming me severely. In the end 6 of my troops survived - the battle was like 16 vs. 9 troops, and I got very lucky my webbing the dreadnought hero with a phasing baby hunter spider, which was enough distraction to finally let me into the gates. I also had a wyvern, and at least two hunters and two shamans plus some prospectors and a crossbowman.
The battle was not easy as my capitol had walls, and Koncita nicely did the repair fortification spell after my first breakage of the gates.
The rest was a war of scouting and movement, and Melciar ultimately conceded due to the lack of mobility, after another capturing, not of my capitol, but of my second city.
