a game of 65 turns. 40 turns of hit and run by mahimka. very good play from mahimka. i won after tedious game because i eliminated his base and vassals eventually, which he was not able to do to me although he attacked first. and i had a bigger base and stronger stacks. when he got obsidian dragaons, he couldnt finance them for long anymore, so he never managed to match my stacks at home, but instead ran out of mana.
the game showed again how awefully difficult it is to defend cities against floating/flying units. that aow3 does not really provide enough to possibilities to defend effectively your own base is maybe the biggest flaw (next to conversions) of the game. and it means that aggressiveness is always rewarded and the one who is the first to hit has a big advantage. the threshold to effective defense is so big, one might equally just build field units. somebody should come up with a kind of "defense mod" if some changes are not to be implemented through the core group. equally "scorched earth" needs to be modded further or "greater disjunction" needs to be more powerful.
