First of all I want to state this was a very, very entertaining game to play. I started in the underground, and Evgendil in the surface, we both made steady progress in the beginning, maybe not me so much, but I was keeping afloat. Jonny also started in the undergound (UG) and we soon met. I was very suprised by the strenght of his army, but he was badly hurt, and I was able to ambush him with a larger number of units. Nevertheless, I suffered severe injuries, and as my start wasn't the best, I was forced to up my level. Luckily, at this stage, I had managed to get a seconday army going, led by a Rogue that Charmed left, right and center. On the surface, Evgedil mounted an attack on Olop, it was a heavy battle with 3 stacks each. Evgendil drew the longest straw, and soon started to attack Jonny on the surface. It was very much back and forth, after winning 2 decisive initial battles, me and Evgendil started to lose several battles. Some due to mismanagement, some due to clever opposition. Around round 34-36 I managed to hunt down Olops undead army, and attack with 2 stacks vs his 9 units. Sadly I lost my leader in the battle, but he was able to return a few rounds later and mount an attack on Jonnys Throne, that proved to be the end for Jonny. The map was created so that Jonny had 3 cities/metropolis's close together, and by defending the one closest to the UG entrance, he managed to withheld the attacks for a long time by himself. But after winning a big battle against me, featuring 9 (!) assasins, his leader just barely survived and Evgendil could kill his leader in the next round. At that time my 40mp hunters and Leader had taken a big detour and was just 1 round away from his Throne, which in the end was only guarded by 3 Swarm Darters. All in all a very enjoyable game with quick turns, battles won and battles lost on both sides!
I thought I used ghoul strike on the titan, but I might have used control undead. Â No, I am pretty sure I used ghoul strike because I believe I killed the titan and it came back after the battle. Â Also, both my heroes used their control undead on the same unit (one failed and one worked) in that battle. Â I also remember the change of control undead was in the low 30s and the chance of ghoul strike was in the high 40s.
It has been awhile since it happened, so I may not be remembering correctly.Â
(you can edit the report through the drop down menu to put the race of Olop)
What do you mean regarding the Ghoul Strike? It's not supposed to work on undeads! It's supposed to work on units that are alive. Could you please confirm it works as intended? Also I don't know how Zaskow implemented it but in cbower's mod, the damages caused by the attack are REALLY REALLY HUGE and should be lowered in my opinion.
Had a slow start as far as gaining cities, which truly cost me later in the game (majority of my income was from treasure sites, so when I had to focus on the enemy I could not capture treasure sites and had a hard time producing.
Was disappointed in the ghoul strike ability. Only worked once the whole game. Â I had 5 or 6 battles against undead indies where I used it and only successfully cursed one unit (though the one unit was an Archon Titan).
Hiliadan, thanks, it was the hardest game for me of them all completed in BF.
Great game for Jonny in defence and in counterattack, when he destroyed my throne.  It`s good that my leader at this time was walking with big and strong animals and feel safe. And your goblins are reproducing very quickly! Â
I lost concentration and made a big mistake, which was lost almost all my southern army after Olop`s attack. But Marcus that time was so mighty that my errors couldn`t affect the result.
Yes, I recognize that when you write the report, it gets quite one handed, even though you try to paint as good picture as you can. But you know your teams action and thoughts, so easier to wirte that. But I tried to give credit as much as I could, it was 2 against 1 for 10+ rounds, and Jonny held his head up very high.
I had several moments in this match where I just did plain mistakes and realised a moment after that my turn was utter bullshit. I lost my main army due to not scouting and poor health. Luckily i could charm some trolls for my second army, but send them into extinction just to ad another mistake. At this time i thought the game was lost and soon over. As it turned out i could manage a comeback, but the enemy was sending wave of wave of animals against us, for every monkey we killed, there came two snakes or bears or whatever.
I could send my assassins into evgendils domain and burned the throne and another city which gave me some time to reproduce swarm darters. Then zoomania started underground and my home tunnels were flooded with hords of birds and freaking animals.
I could hold some rounds but had several losses and in the end, i had a nice battle that i won. But my leader Nobbie fled from the fight and had no movement points left. I had to abandon him to save the city with the last flok of troops. I was quite lucky thinking i got lots of nice fancy equiment from Marcuspers hero. Next turn my poor Nobbie died and should never come back.
It was a dramatic match with lot´s of mistakes from my side but there were also some good moments. I had many ups and downs, hope and dispair, and the match was the most thrilling. Thank you for that!

Ok, Marc i got it ;-) Well, let´s see how this match turns out, i am really surprised to see we are still alive. Don´t hesitate to do some mistakes, it´s not so bad and will keep this match going on for a little longer
Yes, it wasn't meant as any criticism! I hope you got that. I just meant that you had big battles lost, but still going strong. I was thinking how much trouble we would be in if you got those 2 armies working as 1 3-stack army, that's all. Sorry for any confusion, but the main message was that I really enjoy this game. Back-and-Forward
I agree, great game with lot´s of fun. Well, mistakes were made, thats true but nevertheless, i enjoy the game. I should just keep away from the big battles and do what rogues are supposed to do :-) Evgendil, my hope was to catch your leader returning to your army in the middle of the map, maybe i didn´t see him because of that darkness event.
Imagine Jonny if you didn't make those small mistakes. You would be a force to reckon with. Too bad Olop didn't take my bite for the trap  I've enjoyed this game a lot, lots of action, quick turns, battles lost/battles won.
Man, i screw up badly positioning my troops there at that canyon, it´s becoming the canyon of death for us . Must have felt like chrismas for evgendil seeing my troops placed like that and whiping them out.
I see. I must say well done, nice comeback, strongly played. Lets see how much steam Evgendil have left We won 2 decisive battles, but feels like this much is up for grabs still.
Yeah, i had to get my druid hero into that stack to raid the lvl up pillar with the last availible movement. Well, the trolls were charmed of course, i am far from building them. Charming works quite well on them due to low resistance, even better with debuffs. Only way to keep up with that amount of befriended animals i guess.
Well we are all friends here, so I can tell you. I noticed that your Druid and Leader was in the same stack, so natural healer won't work, as your leader overrule the hero (even if he have better skills). Maybe you knew that already, but in the case you mentioned, it wasn't possible. Evgendil have reported to me that you have another swarm of Trolls, do you mind sharing how you can get 4 trolls in such a small time?!
You caught me in total surprise, haven´t seen you at all. I was just aware of the spider scout and that hunter on the lava island. Great timing, i have to admit ;-) I have to say, i am having a hard time healing my units, due to no heal as a rogue and nourishing meal sucks because the 15 hps are split between all units in the stack. Natural healer and wetlands in combination are good, but not enough. Nevermind, game on and have fun!
Yes, I'm not proud of myself Jonny, I saw how strong you were, and with full HP I wouldn't have a chance in that battle, so I took a gamble, and as we all know, attacking player have a great advantage!
Damn, Marcuspers, i hate to loose that fight All the pretty horses! Had hard time to nurse them back to some health, and now this! Man, those buffs are powerful. Wasn´t even close
