Despite of me screwing up a lot at the home front (losing a full stack to ruins and misclick-declaring on my vassal), my main stack was able to snowball enough (through animal evolving and befriending, inns and dungeons) to overwhelm the enemy. That was fortunate, since my economy really wasn't all that great. Once again my scouting was denied pretty effectively, in fact I wouldn't have even known my main stack was on my enemy's doorstep if he hadn't told me so on the chat 
In the end we did a duel with our leaders just for fun, which turned out not to be as epic as it sounds, since the attacking leader fled the fight in both tries, and overall the AI made some very strange choices in those fights. Clearly the autocombat AI is not designed for leader duels. :p Thanks for a good game once again!

@Badok: I'm out of town without my laptop (repainting my parent's house) and won't be able to play my turns until tuesday night / wed morning. Sorry for the delay.
Unlike you, I recognized the fight was lost and retreated with what I had left so I didn't lose everything.
Yeah, mind-control from the AI can be devastating and that specific defender set from Ancient Ruins is very dangerous.
But it's good that you got that result, it shows you're taking risks to clear faster, and it's also a good lesson.
Lessons learned:
-Don't play when tired as hell
-Don't rush fights just to get them over and done with
-Always assume every enemy charm works 100%
-Don't sacrifice your entire army just to free a charmed hero, and then fail to even free him
-Don't play useless halfling gimps
I'll do everything the same way I did before the crash, hopefully will get the same lucky procs too
