I don't remember anything special on turn 3, just cleared some sites and probably scrolls of knowledge, nothing else. I found a lot of gold with scouts all over the map and therefore was able to make important independents vassals. In the mid game I started converting units with two theocrats, with divine justicars have cleared quite many legendary/mythical sites and in throne city I started non-stop producing exalted.
