I got some troubles at work, sorry for the delay.
I hope to send the game today or tomorrow.

Steam doesn't switch to beta automatically, you must select/unselect it.
The beta solves a lot of bug, expecially for PBEM game, and this is the reason we prefer to use it.
We solved this "problem" creating 2 Windows account: one with Steam/AoW3 standard and one with beta enabled.

Yes, that would work. You can revert the game until the start of the turn of the one who had used the open-beta. Then, after he has changed the game version back to 1.555, he can replay the turn, and all should be fine!

My guess is someone opened and uploaded the turn with the open beta installed thus updating the game to that version for everybody.

I'm not sure how to fix this.

Yes, that would work. You can revert the game until the start of the turn of the one who had used the open-beta. Then, after he has changed the game version back to 1.555, he can replay the turn, and all should be fine!

Goblin Necromancer and Strong Defenders is a terrible combination.  My units were too weak to gain levels in the early game and my opponent was smart to rush me before I could get stronger.

It was a nice to play the game as we did our turns quite fast. But unfortunately my opponent had some trouble at the start and could not get much done, so the game was over with the first fight, near his capital.

Hi Gab, thanks for the game, and congratulations!

I was worrying quite a lot that I was going to lose after all. Next turn I was actually not going to chase you anymore, and try to beat some mythical sites to the northeast. I guess I should have taken that Wizard tower when I passed it, so the Chthonic Guardian would have been mine in stead of yours! Things could have been different! I was afraid though that I would lose a hero in the Wizard tower and give away my advantage. It takes long to get really powerful with necro, and I was just at the point where I could get big armies really fast, but there were no more sites nearby.

I saw your armies coming to my capitol from very far ;-) Whispers of the dead gave it away ;-)! I just could not do anything. My economy was super bad. I had 0 gold and a huge upkeep. I had about -100 income. I did not find a lot of cities, unfortunately. Only a very small one, and the Naga city I had to pillage for the gold.
I feel the settler start is not so good for leaders who need economy, like Warlord and so on, so perhaps that is not best setting. Settler is also extremely slow for necro, since cities grow so slowly.

Your second hero: a sorceror with Charm? How lucky! ;-)

Such a pity that I did not have my two tier 3 units in the final battle, but I don't think it would have helped.

Nice but stressful game! I lost quite some sleep, so now I should rest! I would wake up too early and see the game images in my mind, so I could not sleep anymore.. Man I am tired now ;-)
I will post some screenshots later...

O, and at least I can say that I reached level 15 first ;-). Right before my death!

We are in turn 19 the great battle was very beautiful, started by sacrifice of one little angel for dispel all bonus of the undead army, so that my big army with bonus make a carnage, in the same time a little army of elite units led by one gold spirit elemental take the undead capital by surprise only defended by 2 goule sisters and 6 or 7 corpses , may be Spiritseeker can make a video at his turn . Thank you for this very good game!

Difficult to rate. Game was basically dominated by SpiritSeeker who did really farm XP and units (which was pretty much against the spirit of the tourney) - but obviously it's not Spirit's fault the game allows this, and since this is certainly one of the games that initiates a change of the game I cannot rate it worse than a 2. Also, the game had a lot of enjoyable aspects, and I learned something.
SpiritSeeker not only deserves the win due to his consequent XP farming, he also proved an excellent timing and judgement by avoiding an early attack on me (which would not have been that advantageous for him) and handling strategic movement superbly.
All in all, a correct result in a game that was decided when the first player fell.

I'm trying to join, but I see you are using 1.558. I am using 1.555, which to my knowledge is the latest official version... Am I missing something?
